Around the world, millions of adolescent girls and women experiencing a menstrual cycle lack access to safe water and sanitation. Without this basic resource, it is impossible for them to manage their menstruation in a hygienic way. Menstrual hygiene is essential to girls and women’s health and well-being. World Menstrual Hygiene Day is a global event observed annually on May 28th to raise awareness about the importance of menstrual hygiene and break the silence and stigma surrounding menstruation. Safe Haven Foundation Visits Maunga and Al Madina Orphanage Centres Event May 6, 2023 By Safe Haven Foundation On Saturday 6th May, 2023 Our Team visited two different Orphanage Centre in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam. We had a productive day by teaching both the adolescent boys and girls on menstrual health and hygiene.
