Safe Haven Responded to the Letter from The Principal of Kawe Ukwamani Secondary School Education May 25, 2023 By Safe Haven Foundation UTANGULIZI (INTRODUCTION): Makala hii imeanza kuandikwa kwa English na ikatafriwa kwa Kiswahili hapo chini (This publication has been written in English and translated into Kiswahili as seen below.) On May 23, 2023, our Safe Haven Foundation received a letter from the Principal of Kawe Ukwamani Secondary School in Dar es Salaam with a title that says “REQUEST FOR SCHOOL NEEDS FOR GIRLS”. The letter contained requests for 893 girls, among whom there are 126 special needs girls. The needs were as follows: – Pads Foods Six Beds and Mattresses Exercise books Papers (Reams) School Uniforms and Shoes Toilets detergent and Soaps The Safe Haven Foundation received this letter with open arms and began to see what we can do to help these female students who are in great need. We were able to prepare a few things that can be found quickly and today Thursday, May 25, 2023 we were able to visit the school. We are happy to get good reception from the teachers and students. The items/needs we were able to provide were a small quantity of pads; as well as toilets detergent and soaps. As the letter explains it has number of needs. We as Safe Haven Foundation cannot support/provide all these things by ourselves; therefore, we ask for your help so that they can get those needs in time. CHAPISHO LA KISWAHILI Tarehe 23 Mei, 2023 Taasisi yetu ya Safe Haven ilipokea barua kutoka kwa Mkuu wa Shule ya Sekondari Kawe Ukwamani ya Jijini Dar es Salaam yenye kichwa cha habari kinachosema “MAOMBI YA MAHITAJI YA SHULE KWA WASICHANA”. Barua hiyo ilikuwa na maombi ya mahitaji kwa wasichana 893 ambapo miongoni mwao kuna wasichana 126 wa Mahitaji Maalum. Mahitaji yaliyoanishwa ni: – Taulo za Kike Chakula kwa Wanafunzi Wasiokuwa na Uwezo Vitanda Sita na Magodoro Madaftari Karatasi (Reams) Sare za Shule na Viatu Dawa za Chooni na Sabuni Taasisi ya Safe Haven ilipokea kwa mikono miwili barua hii na kuanza kuona namna ya kuwasidia wanafunzi hawa wa kike walio katika uhitaji mkubwa sana. Kutokana na mahitaji ya shule kuwa makubwa; tuliweza kuandaa vitu vichache ambavyo vinaweza kupatikana haraka na leo Alhamisi, 25 Mei, 2023 tuliweza kuvipeleka shuleni hapo. Tumefurahi na kufarijika kuona mapokezi mazuri ya walimu na wanafunzi. Vitu/mahitaji tulivyoweza kuwapelekea ni kiasi kidogo cha taulo za kike; pamoja na dawa za chooni na sabuni. Kama barua inavyojieleza ina mahitaji mengi na kwa idadi kubwa. Sisi kama Safe Haven Foundation hatuwezi wenyewe kusaidia vitu vyote hivi; kwa hiyo tunakuomba msaada wako kwa Mabinti hawa ili waweze kupata mahitaji hayo kwa wakati.
